How to make children’s day special for your kids? Are you still thinking, how would you celebrate and make this day special for you kids. Read on for I have some easy and simple ways to celebrate this children’s day with your kids.
Children’s day is celebrated on 14 November every year on the birth anniversary of the first Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India also called ‘Chacha Nehru’. Nehru is often cited as saying that children should always be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.

Here are some easy and simple ways to celebrate children’s day with your kids: 

1. Field Trip:
A calm peaceful nature works wonders in the upliftment of the child’s emotions. Children love nature. In today’s fast life it’s peaceful to visit a place with lot of greenery. A place where kids can hear the birds chirping and the wind blowing. Take your kids to the closest destination where he/she can witness nature very closely.
2. Theme Party:
A theme that children love can be picked. Kids love cartoon, animal or some activity based theme like painting, outdoor play. Children will love to dress up for the theme and get involved in all the activities. This type of parties also develop the creative ski;;s of children when they see how their friends have dressed up. it helps in developing new innovative ideas.

 

3. Call friends:
You may call over your children’s friends or your friends who have kids. Kids love to play with other kids and this way even parents will have some fun time together. Socialising is a great way to have fun and party. Inviting friends at your own place is one of the best ways to develop social skills among kids . The values of politeness ; courteousness ; sharing & caring all develop in such get togetherness . Kids also learn to accept others as they are & learn to socialise . Such parties create wonders especially when you have an introvert child.

4. Gifts:
Who doesn’t like gifts? Children will love them too. Their faces will glow with the beautiful gifts you give them.  A very important way to make someone feel precious & important in life is by giving gifts 🎁. Kids feel loved & secured with such gestures . They sense the acceptance and look themselves as a member of the society with such acts . I like to give gifts that are memorable.
5. Get on the dance floor:
Music is considered as an important tool in expressing hidden emotions . Such activities of letting urself loose on the dance floor creates joy happiness & a feeling of lightness . It also strengthens the bonding between a parent & a child. This can be done when you have other kids at home or even if you are alone with ur child. Dancing is total fun. This is a memory your child will cherish forever.
6. Sing along:
There is a famous quote ‘If music be the food of life play on’
Rightly said as singing & dancing are best ways to channelise emotions .If you are not a dance person, sing your favourite songs. Kids love rhymes, so sing some rhymes to entertain them. I love music and my son loves listening to songs.
7. Cake:
a good way to develop a strong bonding by baking a cake with your child in the kitchen. Allow the child to participate in icing the cake and enjoy the special contribution. if you cannot bake one then keep it simple, bring your child’s favourite cake and allow him to cut the cake and enjoy eating it. This is a very cost-effective way of celebrating. So simple yet beautiful.
8. Perform:
If your society has an event for children’s day or you plan an event for a group of children, perform for them. Kids will love seeing their parents perform on stage. We have done this when I was teaching in school. Kids were surprised to see their kids perform on stage.
9. Movie and restaurant :
This is something all kids love . Munching popcorn while watching their favourite hero on the screen is something they simply love . Dining with friends is also cherished as they feel special sitting on a separate table with their friends or sharing the same dish . It develops a feeling of likelihood .
10. Chocolate:
Most kids love chocolates. If you are working and can’t do much for your kids on that day. Get them some chocolates. Oh I love chocolates. Its just that I control my portion.

11. Decorate the room:
How would you feel if you wake up to a room decorated just for you. Decorate the room when your child is sleeping. When he wakes up to the decorated house, he would be too happy.
12. Orphanage:
Visit some orphanage with young kids and celebrate children’s day with them. This is a very kind way of celebrating children’s day. Children at orphanage will have immense happiness. Your kids will learn to respect and value things he/she has got in life,
So there a lot of different ways to celebrate children’s day. Become a child with your child and enjoy each moment you spend with your child, for time once passed never comes back.

  1. I like all your ideas but I feel it’s a nice way to celebrate Children’s day at an orphanage.
    I will surprise my daughter by decorating her room on Children’s Day. That’s a good idea.

  4. Out of all I liked the idea of visiting the orphanage and spending time with them not just giving them chocolates and some gifts and returning.

  7. I liked all the ideas but the one that touched me is visiting orphanage. There are many children out there who don’t know who their parents are. By visiting orphanage, our kids will learnt to make others also a part of their happiness and joy.
